Right wing ramblings from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Fraud

A story of a broker cleaning out his clients’ accounts always interests me, as I was personally a victim of a quasi-broker who did the same thing.

The investigation into Stephen White, the star Bank of Nova Scotia broker who resigned under mysterious circumstances two weeks ago, has spread to accounts at other dealers and is focusing on his dealings with a wealthy Toronto family that appears to have lost millions of dollars.

Note to future investors: be prepared to lose it all if investing in futures and options.  If you are taking naked positions, be prepared to lose more than what you put up.

For every story the hits the papers, there must be 10 more that don’t make the news.  Personally, my fraudster went to jail.  If more people speak out, it can serve as a lesson and warning to fraudees and fraudsters alike.

Comment if you have a story.

  1. I have been defrauded of a significant amount of money by a former friend of 30 years.
He is with Anderson Ark Associates-a group from the US.  Members of AAA have been convicted of and are currently facing many many criminal charges.  This group is affiliated with the Detax Canada movement and other companies in Canada.  They have spread across the country and I am at present tracking down these people.  I have connected them to Academy Financial Planners Edmonton director being Orest Rusnak a disbarred lawyer who was imprisoned (not long enough) for fraud.  He is also a key player in the World Stock Exchange shut down by the Alberta Securities Commission.  Several individuals lost money in that scheme of his.  He is very active in promoting his schemes.
I am looking for anyone who has been robbed of their money by this group.
They also were traveling across the country with their affiliate organization Freedom Foundations, promoting their schemes.  These people simply ‘morph’ and carry on under different names.  It is my objective to bring them to justice and stop the defrauding of innocent Canadians.  The products they promote bear all the classic marks of scams.
I have been very busy investigating and have found all the above connections.
I want to applaud Ontario’s wonderful new law that allows seizure of the assets of fraudsters and given back to the people that they stole from.
Canada must toughen up on fraudsters.  I have researched many articles and the common consensus it that Canada is a con man’s haven as it does not have heavy enough penalties for fraud.
I would like to hear from anyone who knows of someone or is someone who has been taken by this group.

  3. Yes, there are many of us who have been scammed by Orest Rusnak. Would like to do all I can to help and hopefully recover some losses and put this man back in jail where he belongs forever.
These are not small amounts of money, but hundreds of thousands of dollars from many investors, some of who in their retirement, rather than now being able to enjoy their later years, have had to file personal bankruptcy and go back to whatever work they can find. Orest Rusnak appears to be without conscience, with no thought or care to the life altering postion he has created for many folks. Unfortunately he is still out there promoting his “stuff”. How can we stop him?
Tim or Greta, please respond to my email.

  10. I suppose I was fortunate enough to have already been fleeced of my greatest achievement, prior to my introduction to Orest Rusnak, or perhaps he would have fleeced me, too. But it was becausing of my fleecing @ the hands of our “just-us” system that I came to know of him, through Eddy Haymour, who was also resoundingly fleeced. I don’t have to try to imagine what it is like to spend the 2nd half of a life-time, trying to expose a system that is systematically oppressive and riddled with corruption. A little piece of me lingers..."was he really guilty or was he torpedoed...?”
