Toughen the YOA!

It's great to see the grassfire ignited by the latest two high-profile YOA attempted-murder/murder(s).  While we are sickened that it's taken the following terrible crimes to get action, we understand that the proverbial traffic light is never installed until someone is killed - so the YOA is no different.

Tom Ambas Story

Early in 1995, Tom Ambas' brother Louie was brutally stabbed (20 to 50 times) to death in Scarboro. He was attempting to escape his brother's store (which he was minding), as it was being robbed by three Young Offenders. A Young Offender has been charged with his murder. We don't know his name or any other details.

Louis was in his thirties, had a wife and small kids. His life was snuffed out. If the Young Offender is convicted, he will get 10 years maximum. He'll get a second chance.

Tom Ambas has already gathered over 500,000 signatures of people who want the act changed. He has forwarded this list to Alan Rock, our Minister Of Justice. He wants Rock to change and toughen up the YOA. Please add your support to this petition. Phone Tom Ambas at his store at 416-265-1407 and offer your support. God Bless this courageous brother for his incredible efforts.

Email Tom Wappel, Tom Ambas' MP who's been slow to help
He, well, was too busy for weeks, couldn't make it down to the store... you get the picture. Your email is sent as a fax, so you should leave some return address info if you want a response. Same goes for the following:
Email The Hon. Anne McLellan, our Minister of Justice
The Minister holds all the cards.
Email Preston Manning, Reform Party Leader
Preston says he's for the common man. The common man wants reform. Send him a copy of your email. Tell him you mailed Alan. He can stand up in the HOC and ask questions of Anne.
